      Dear Mrs. Melvin

In reply to your letter of January
20th ult., redirected to me last week, I
enclose an extract that may interest you.
It is the only reference to Lough Melvin
I can find in the books at present at my
disposal.  Melbh (pronounced Melv) I gather,
was the name of the woman mentioned, and
the "vin" part of Melvin would seem to
      mean she was fair-haired.

                        Sincerely yours,

                     (Signed)  [Vera McCarthy]

Variant word list:
Word searches conducted by computer may produce disappointing
results.  Therefore, for each page, there will be a list like
this of names with middle names omitted, maiden names and married
names used, hyphenated words reconstructed, etc.  Perhaps this
strategy will help those people who are conducting searches on
the Internet find who they are looking for on this page.
It has already proven helpful to the HTML Editor.
