DANIEL MELVIN WILL
In the name of God "Amen".
I, Daniel Melvin, Senr. of the County of Bladen and
State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind
and memory Blessed be God, do this the fifteenth day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and forty four, make and publish this my last Will
and Testament in manner following, viz:
1st. I give and bequeath to my beloved son Robert Mel-
vin. four hundred and sixty two of land on the South side
of Little Turnbull known by the name of the Kelsoe land
which I have given him heretofore by deed dated 15 July
1818. also my negro man Jacob.
2nd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Daniel
Melvin. my negro man Bob, two cows and calves. two sows
and pigs. two two year old hogs. two ewes and lambs. and
one horse. also four hundred and sixty two acres of land
on the North side of Little Turnbull. joining the lands of
the aforesaid Robert Melvin. and the run of Little Turnbull
to be the dividing line between them which I have hereto-
fore given him by deed dated the 15th day of July 1818.
3rd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Arthur
Melvin my negro man Tone. one horse. two cows and calves.
two sows and pigs. two two year old hogs and two ewes and
lambs. which I have heretofore loaned him. also five hun-
dred and ninety five acres of land on the east side of Cy-
press Creek. known as the Sellars land. which I have here-
tofore given him by deed.
4th. I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my beloved
son John Melvin, my negro man. Dick. and Sorrel mare. two
cows and calves. two sows and pigs. two two year old hogs.
and two ewes and lambs. which I had heretofore loaned to
my said son John Melvin in his lifetime. also I give unto
the heirs of my said son John Melvin. five hundred and
forty acres of land. known as the McNabb and James Cashwell
land which I have heretofore given to my said son John Mel-
vin by deed.
5th. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son, George
W. Melvin my negro man. Daniel and one horse. two cows and
calves. two sows and pigs. two two year old hogs and two
ewes and lambs. which I have heretofore loaned him, also
six hundred ahd ninety seven acres of land on the South side
of South River. on the Stage Road. Known as the West and
Hall land. which I have heretofore given him by deed.
6th. I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my daughter
Ann Herrington my negro woman Jude. one feather bed and fur-
iture. two cows and calves. two sows and pigs. two two year
old hogs. and two ewes and lanls. which I have heretofore
loaned to my said daughter Ann during her life time.
7th. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter. Cath-
erine Smith. seven hundred and sixty nine acres of land where
she now lives known by the name of the Sellars land. in place
of a negro girl by the name of "Candis". I further give unto
