Columbus, Georgia. DAVID GEORGE MELVIN is a cabinet maker and

Son of ARTHUR MELVIN (1799-    ) of Bladen County, N.C. and
Charlotte Averitte of Cumberland County, N.C., the daughter
of Henry Averitte. Born 22 Sept. 1843 at Cedar Creek, Cum-
berland County, N.C., died 17 Oct. 1915 at Juniper, Marion
County, Georgia, buried in Juniper Cemetery. Married Marga-
rette C. Munroe of Bladen County, N.C., born 12 March 1838,
died at Juniper 22 Jan. 1922, buried in Juniper Cemetery.
DAVID JOHNSON MELVIN was a farmer, a member of the Baptist
Church and served in Co. I, 51st N.C. Infantry C.S.A.

     Cumberland County, N.C., died 10 April 1953 in Miami,
     Florida. Buried in Fitzgerald, Ga. Married 22 June 1888.
son, John Munroe Melvin, born 23 Dec. 1876 in Whiteville, N.C.
     Died 26 Nov. 1947. Married, first, Jeannie Johnson; sec-
     ond, 8 April 1883 Lizzy Posey. Buried in New Life Cem-
     etery, Geneva, Florida, but died in Columbus, Georgia.
 
 
 
There is indeed a "Juniper" in Marion County, Georgia but
"Jupiter", Georgia cannot be found. -Ed.
