Daughter of Senator ROBERT MELVIN (1792-1846) and Elizabeth
Herrington of Bladen County, N.C. Born in Turnbull Township,
Bladen County, N.C., c1823. Was buried on the north side of
the curve in the road before crossing Turnbull Creek in Cum-
berland County when travelling the road from the Beard neigh-
borhood in Cumberland to Cedar Creek in Cumberland County.
A dairy is now located on the site (1978). Married c1845 Jno.
Neil McCall, born in Bladen County c1826, son of John McCall
and grandson of DUNCAN McCALL and Christian McCoulskey.
