Daughter of THOMAS BANNERMAN MELVIN (1876-1940) and Lena Mc-
Kay Melvin (1880-1968) of White Oak and Sanford, N.C. Born
at White Oak, N.C., 15 June 1910. Married 3 Nov. 1946 James
Hunter Matthews of Sampson County, N.C., the son of James Os-
car Matthews, born 20 March 1868, died 4 April 1943 and mar-
ried 15 Aug. 1900 Katie Peterson, born 8 Oct. 1871, died 20
June 1925. EVA "Mack" MELVIN was a secretary until she joined
the military in WW II. One Child:
 
dau. Lena Dale Matthews, born 25 Feb. 1949 in Sanford, N.C.
     Married 28 Dec. 1973 Rodger Kamenetz, divorced in 1978
     and began the study of medicine, having previously re-
