JOHN MELVIN, Esq.
(1799-1844)

Daniel (2), Daniel (1).

Son of DANIEL MELVIN, II, and Sarah West, daughter of James
West. Born in Bladen County, N.C., 1799, died 25 July 1844.
Married c1819 Sarah Ann Kelly, thought to have been a daugh-
ter of Patrick Kelly, but the 1810 Census renders this view
to be untenable, for he was not married at that time.* The Kel-
lys who did have girls in her age limits in the 1810 Census
were W.D., John, Archibald and James. Sarah Ann married Wil-
liam Herrington, son of JAMES HERRINGTON. JOHN MELVIN was a
magistrate in Bladen County, and served in the Court of Pleas
and Quarter Sessions. Children of JOHN MELVIN and Sarah Ann
Kelly (born 1806): Next page:

HTML Editor's notes:

Although the name JANE MELVIN is set in all capitals, there is no
head-of-family page for this particular JANE MELVIN (born c1812).
(There are several Jane Melvins.) See instead the page for her
husband, Phillip Reeves. This reference is not a head-of-family
page for Phillip Reeves either, but their children are listed
there.

There seems to be no separate page for the REEVES FAMILY.
However, try these pages for additional information on the
REEVES FAMILY: Page 067 (JANE MELVIN (c1748-1836)), Page 068, and Page 108 (NANCY (or ANN?) MELVIN (1801-    )).
