COUNCIL, SR.

     WHITE OAK -- Kenneth
Bradley Council, Sr., 79, of
7515 River Road died Sunday,
March 3rd, at Southeastern Re-
gional Medical Center in
Lumberton.

     He was a native of Bladen
County, the son of the late
Royden I. and Isabel McKay
Council. He was a farmer and
a veteran of World War II.

     The funeral service will be
held today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m.
at White Oak Baptist Church
with the Rev. Scott Lewis offi-
ciating. Burial will follow in
the Council Family Cemetery.

     He is survived by his wife,
Ruby Council; four daughters,
Linda C. Henschel of Clinton,
Roxanne C. Rankin and Ruby
C. Ruehle, both of White Oak,
and Mary C. Batten of Chad-
bourn; a son, Kenneth Bradley
Council, Jr., of White Oak; a
brother, Aubrey Council of
Richmond, Va.; six grandchil-
dren and four great-
grandchildren.

     In lieu of flowers memorials
may be made to a charity of
one's choice.

     Butler Funeral Home of
Roseboro is handling the ar-
rangements.
